In 1964 he was named to the Associated Press All State basketball 4th team, the United Press International All State 1st team, and received the Chamber of Commerce Sports Award.
In 1965 he was named to the Associated Press All State basketball 2nd team, the United Press International Little All State Basketball 1st team, received the Jack Flowers memorial award and the Chamber of Commerce Sports Award, named Pennsylvania High School Mr. Basketball, and named to the Parade Magazine High School All American 1st team.
He scored 1,668 points in his high school career.
He played in the following All-Star games in 1965:
- The Berks County East – West all star game which he was named the MVP
- PA All stars vs the Ohio All Stars
- B’Nai Brith All Star game
- Dapper Dan Round ball classic
- PA all-stars vs the United States All-Stars
He received a full basketball scholarship to North Carolina State University
- In the 1965-66 season he was a freshman starter then became a 3 year varsity starter as a point guard and named co-captain his senior year.
In 1968 he was drafted by the New York Knicks
He received the Everett Case Memorial Sportsmanship Award in 1969 and was also drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1969
After college, he played with the Exeter Black Knights from 1969 – 1972 in the Mid – Atlantic Amateur Basketball League winning the National Amateur Basketball Association Championship in 1970.
He played with Beiber Bus in the Reading City League from 1972 – 1974 winning the city league championship both seasons.
Played with Kroninger Tire in the Reading City league from 1974 – 1977.
He was inducted into the Kutztown Area HS Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998, the Berks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame on May 5, 1985, and inducted as part of the inaugural class of the Berks County Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008
